Member Application Process – Currently Closed
Vale Makers is a curated collection of creatives focused on a chosen craft. Applicants should fulfil the following points:
- Specialises in One Craft Discipline: Each member of Vale Makers focuses on a single craft or material, allowing for expertise in their chosen medium.
- Example: Woodworking
- Highly Skilled: Members are exceptionally talented and have developed their skills over time to a high level within their chosen craft.
- Consistently High Standards: Quality is paramount, with every creation meeting a high standard.
- Professional Craftsmanship: Vale Makers is not a casual meet-and-craft groups and markets. Vale Makers emphasize professional work and offers them exposure online through our platform and at dedicated market dates.
- Active Self Marketing: Successful applicants have demonstrated presence online and/or on social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, showcasing their work,
While all applications will be considered, applying is not a guarantee of acceptance to membership.
Vale Makers are specifically looking for applicants from the following crafts:
- Metalwork
- Stone carving
- Wire work sculpting
- Basketry
- Woodwork
Through our selection process, Vale Makers ensures balanced representation by restricting the number of makers within the same craft or discipline.
Fees:
- A subscription fee of £25 per annum payable on joining, conditional on your application being successful. Renewal of membership and payment of the annual membership fee commences each January.
- Active members can participate in the Vale Makers Markets. Market table fees are applicable to each market and can vary. Fees are provided with notification of market dates to members.
- Membership does not guarantee space at markets as capacity of the venues varies.
